Veronica Roth Managed To Break My Heart. (Spoiler Alert)

Well, I will begin by saying I am obsessive. By obsessive, I mean that I fall in love and don't like to let go. Also, I will say that I do not have a "love life." Naturally, this means that I live my life through books. I fall in love with the characters. I fall in love with the relationships: romantic and not romantic. I don't know if anyone else is like this, nor do I care. Now, onto the books. The Divergent trilogy is a stupid trilogy. Well, it was actually wonderful. I couldn't put it down. In Divergent, we are introduced to a young girl name Beatrice. Lo and behold, she falls for a boy. Not only that, but she leaves her family behind and makes many new friends. When leaving her family, she changes her name to Tris. Tris lives her life on the edge. Literally. One of her friends actually jumped off the edge. This does and doesn't matter in the overall picture. The death of Tris's loved one helps to shape not only her, but her friends. Throughout the books, many lives are lost. I cried every single time. The relationships in the book that I valued the most were that between Tris and Tobias, Tris and Uriah, and Tris and Christina. I adored the fact that these friendships seemed so perfect and although they were all from very different backgrounds, they got along swell. Even when someone screwed up, they eventually forgave one another. All in all, these books were very well written and followed a clear storyline. Although, I wouldn't say that I am a huge fan of the ending, I would definitely recommend these books to anyone looking for a fun, fast-paced read intertwined with a heartbreaking romance.
Divergent: 5/5 stars
